ABOUT LIVING YOGA
Living Yoga serves, for free, a wide range of facilities and institutions including prisons, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, domestic violence shelters and programs for disadvantaged youth. We have over 70 active volunteers teaching more than 10,000 student hours of yoga each year, one full-time Director, one part-time Volunteer Coordinator, and a volunteer Board of Directors to support and coordinate our programs. Our annual cash budget is less than $150,000/year.
We currently serve twelve institutions with over 16 different classes/week, and continually receive requests for our services from additional organizations. Without the commitment and service of our volunteers, we would not be able to continue to provide and expand our services each year to men, women and teens at the following locations:
• Coffee Creek Correctional Facility
• Columbia River Correctional Institution
• Central City Concern, Old Town Clinic
• DePaul Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center for Adults
• DePaul Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center for Teens
• Oregon State Correctional Institution
• Oregon State Penitentiary
• Donald E. Long Home
• Raphael House of Portland
• Volunteers of America Men’s Residential Center
If you cannot participate in the Yogathon, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to Living Yoga. No amount of sharing is too small.
