Anne received her Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and is a state licensed acupuncturist. She is nationally certified in Acupuncture and Asian Bodywork Therapy by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition to her private practice at Yoga in the Pearl, Anne is a teaching assistant for the shiatsu classes at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. From her experience as a practitioner for IEP (The Immune Enhancement Program), Anne has gained knowledge in supportive and restorative therapies for conditions such as Fibromyalgia, MS, HIV, and Cancer. Anne has developed a unique style of treatment incorporating both Acupuncture and Asian Bodywork into one session. While focusing on the root cause of a condition, Anne also addresses the symptoms being presented at the time of visit. This approach helps to alleviate the immediate symptoms while healing and restoring the body so that the effects of treatment last longer and the symptoms do not recur. Using an intuitive approach to healing, as well as time tested protocols, Anne facilitates bringing the recipient's life force (Qi) into balance, helping to promote the body's natural ability to heal itself. Acupuncture is a healing therapy that has been practiced for centuries using fine, disposable needles at selected points of the body. Each individual has their own life force, or Qi (pronounced “chee”), that circulates throughout their body by way of energetic meridians, or channels. Acupuncture effectively treats numerous health concerns at the energetic level. This means benefits can be seen on the physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual levels. Common benefits from acupuncture are relief from pain, reduction of stress, and increased physical and mental energy, to name a few. Click here see “Conditions Commonly Treated with Acupuncture” for more info. By accessing the energetic meridians at acupoints, the needles help bring balance to the flow of Qi throughout the body. This balance, over a period of time, helps to restore the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Chinese Herbal Remedies Shiatsu Rates: $95 for 90-minute initial consultation / $70 follow-up
